I'm Meshweyla Macdonald, and I'm standing to be one of your Councillors for the Waikato Regional Council.

 

How lucky are we to call the Waikato our home?  We must be responsible to ensure its abundance is protected now and for generations to come.

 

Let's care for our river better so we can swim in and drink from it!  Let's ensure Council is getting the best value from our money and keeps rates stable.  Let's take a sensible approach to climate change, and maximise the well-being of residents and families.

 

I was raised on a farm and now live in Hamilton city.  I'm a business owner and work at the Regional Council, so I understand how to get things done.  I'm a University of Waikato graduate in law and management, of European and Maori lineage, and a married mother of three.
